Every fortnight brings a new challenge, giving children two sessions to plan, build, test, change things and develop their ideas.
But the challenge is only part of what happens.
They're working alongside other children. Sharing ideas. Asking for help. Helping somebody else. Compromising when they disagree. Coping when something doesn;t work. Celebrating each other's successes and learning how to keep going when things don't quite go to plan.
That's the value of structured play.
Minecraft gives us an incredible environment to work in. Being part of the group is where so much of the learning happens.
Most children already know how to use technology. They're surounded by it every day. What matters now is how they use it and the person they grow up to be because of it.
At TMC Computing Limited, we use technology as a way to build the skills that really count. Computer science and technology, engineering and mathematics are all super important but so it creativity, confidence, resilience, teamwork, friendliness, politeness and empathy. The kind of things that will matter even more as the world changes and AI becomes part of everyday life. We teach children to try their best and be proud of that, But also to understand that they won't always win, and that's part of life.
Learning to lose, reset and keeping going matters.
We create spaces where children feel comfortable being themselves, where hey can build, share ideas and feel part of something.

Our KS1 clubs are designed specifically for younger children, with extra support, shorter activities and a Minecraft environment adapted for their age (including Survival mode with hostile mobs switched off).
You don't need to be a Minecraft expert.
